Flexible control and automated tracking of your approved source commitments.

The Approved Source List Module automatically links purchase orders resulting from Baan MRP or MPS to the approved source list for those parts and will keep track of actual procurement versus planned procurement for different manufacturers. By assigning preferred status to an ASL you can automatically assign a specific manufacturer's part to a purchase order for a particularly BOM. Approval combinations can be assigned with effectivity dates and can also be activated and deactivated as required. Manufacturer's part numbers or supplier's part numbers can be shown on the PO documents to ensure less opportunity for error in shipping and receiving.

Seamless integration with the rest of Baan ERP

The Approved Source List Module provides an extension to the Baan database to link standard Baan item numbers to manufacturer's part numbers and then tot he manufacturer. Additional data that defines things like Unit Price, Contract Number, Manufacturers Part Number, Priority, and Effectivity Dates, are stored for use in the module.

The ASL Module also integrates with the Baan EDM module. The manufacturer's information can be entered for the engineering item, as it is being created. Now you can capture manufacturer's data right at design inception. When engineering data is released for production the manufacturer's data will already exist.

After the MPS or MRP purchase orders have been generated by the Baan planning module, you can link them to your ASL data and allow your planners to capture procurement information by manufacturer. This enables you to analyze inventory and purchasing data by manufacturer.
